Six Month Check-up

I had a realization the other day as I was attempting to sort through the gazillion of pictures we have accumulated over the past couple of months. I realized that if I didn't start doing current posts along with the catch-up posts, I would never actually catch up. I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize that, maybe I was just overconfident that I could catch-up faster than I am. So, here is my attempt to start doing current posts. :)

We had the girls' six month check-up the other day! It seems so crazy that they are six months old already! I hurt my shoulder a couple of days before the appointment, so Nick took time off work and came with us. It was so great to have him with us!

Helen was first to be weighed, she was such a pro!
Helen: 14 lbs 9.8 oz

Then it was Vivian's turn to be weighed, she was not happy about it! She wanted to keep snuggling with her daddy!
Vivian: 16 lbs 6.4 oz

Their stats. Since we went to the doctor about a week and half ago when Helen was sick, we can really see how quickly they are growing! Helen gained almost 9 oz and Vivian gained about 6 oz! Way to go girls!

After Vivian's examination, she got her wish and snuggled up with daddy while watching Helen get examined. I snuggled with Helen after her check-up.

The sweet babies waited, unaware that they were about to get some vaccinations. There is a shortage on the combination shots they were scheduled for, so they had to get separate shots of each. Poor babies! They were so brave!

Viv with her crunchy monkey and Helen with her elephant-they love them!

Two Month Onesies

Here are some pictures of the girls wearing their two month onesies. They had their two month check-ups earlier in the day, and received a couple of shots, which is why they have band-aids on their legs.

Helen wasn't exactly thrilled to be having her picture taken. They were both so worn out and ready for their baths and their bedtime routine.

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, we went to my parents house, we were extra excited since my Grandma on my mom's side was in town. We call her Mommom, and I'm sure the girls will too. :)

The traffic was exactly what we expected-crazy!

We went to the Thanksgiving service at church. It is only an hour long, and people share the wonderful things they have gone through during the year or the trials that they have survived that they are thankful for. It is such a great way to start the Thanksgiving holiday!

Our family picture-before and after the pacifiers. :)

Four generations!

We had to get a picture of the girls in their cute onesies-once again made by some of my best friends.

While we were there, Vivian loved lounging in her Boppy and looking out the window. :)

We had a great time seeing our family and spending the day in thanks for all the great things this year has brought us. Our girls are amazing and we are so thankful for them! Even though we weren't expecting two, it has been something we are so thankful for and we can't imagine life any different.

One Month Check-up

Here are the girls all buckled up headed to their one month check-up:

Vivian being weighed-8 lbs 8.8 oz

Helen being weighed-6 lbs 3.8 oz. She always rolls like this when she's on the changing table too. We think it is so funny, because she stays so stiff-she looks like a little bowling pin rolling from side to side. :)

We were so proud of our girls! They both gained about two pounds since their two week check-up!

After the girls were weighed, we waited back in our room. The girls still don't like to be undressed, and so they were very upset that they had to wear only their diapers to be weighed. My husband wasn't able to go to this appointment, so I was on my own. Desperate times call for desperate measures! I had their nurse snap this picture while I held them both in an attempt to calm them down-it worked pretty well!

Vivian passed out while waiting for her shots-little did she know what was coming. Doesn't she just look so sweet?!

Helen ready on the table and waiting for her shots.

Helen after her shots. She was so upset! You can see from her little eyes that she had been crying very hard from her shots. She looks like such a sweet little elf here!

Overall, the girls did really well considering they had to share me, and got a couple of shots. It was a great learning experience for me, as I learned how to get out and about with the girls on my own.

Pictures of Vivian's First Month

Sleeping on Daddy:

Holding her bottle for size comparison. :)

Vivian sleeps in the craziest positions! We have no idea why she does this, but she love to sleep with her head completely bent back. It doesn't seem very comfortable to us, but she does it all the time!

Hanging out on her Boppy. I love that smile!

Pictures of Helen's First Month

Helen relaxing on her Boppy:

Drinking her bottle. Doesn't it look so huge-it covers half her face!

Helen also sleeps in some crazy positions. Mostly they consist of her getting at least one arm out of her swaddling-she's a little Houdini!

Pictures of Our First Month Together

Since the girls are still so little and young, we don't really do very much. Their days pretty much consist of eating, sleeping, and filling their diapers. :)

Here I am holding both the girls. Helen was needing a little bit more comfort than Vivian, who you can see, was sleeping soundly. Helen is wearing a little gown, they are always too short, but way too baggy-our little string beans!

Here the girls are in their Boppies. Right now they still need their pacifiers to calm down enough to sleep, so I rolled up swaddling blankets and used those to hold the pacifiers for the girls. It can get a little difficult sometimes to calm both of them at the same time, so I was really relieved that this worked!

We are having so much fun getting to know our girls more and more everyday. We love them so much, and they are so sweet!
